Do you have a rock n play? Maybe that could help? We don't but we tried both sets of swings and neither did the trick. I'm pumping and we're supplementing with formula, is cluster feeding still possible? (Anyone, not just directed to you lol) Yes, formula fed babies still can cluster feed. I think the theory is they try to fill up so they can sleep longer, but I don't particularly believe it at the moment.. With DS2, we can tell because he'll suddenly start constantly spitting out his pacifier (we give one first if he just had a bottle, otherwise we offer a bottle first) and crying "Nah!" while bobbing his head like a bobble doll

Obviously, you'll want to keep the blankets around the body and not the head since it raises the sheets, but it may work to give him that snuggle feeling

lupincat, I believe both DD1 and now DD2 are cluster feeding at times and both were formula fed. I swore that I wouldn't sleep my kids in the rock and play or in bed with me, but DD1 was in the rock and play for the first couple months because of reflux and I had DD2 sleep with me in bed for a few hours the other night because every time I would get her to sleep and lay her down, she would wake up within a minute or two. Hope you are able to find something that helps you all get some sleep!

lupincat, we had a really rough first few nights with DD1, and when we went to her appointment at 3 days for her weight and color check they found that she had lost more weight than they like and had us increase the mount of formula we were giving her (We were nursing and supplementing with formula too) and her sleeping improved after that. That was just our experience, and may not be your issue, but thought I would share.

FIL is in town so he came over for dinner last night. He lives many states away, but comes in for business a few times a year. We got take out at an Italian joint because I didn't want to cook and then had the key lime pie I made for dessert. We have SO much food in the fridge right now. I felt like I had a couple contractions last night, but I'm not sure if it was just BH + baby in a weird position. They were definitely a bit more painful then usual. I'm in a weird place where I'm both ready for baby and freaking out about it all so I want it to stay in there.

cmb Yes, we swaddle but I can't tell yet if he likes it or not. Seems to be hit or miss. Thanks for all the words of advice ladies! I honestly forget how the first few nights were with DS1 so I feel like I'm starting from scratch. I appreciate everyone's advice and anecdotes

Being pregnant is getting old and uncomfortable but at least I'm more or less used to it and know what to expect. Having an outside is totally unchartered territory and I'm scared!

I appreciate everyone's advice and anecdotes I'm a full blown subscriber to the notion that the baby that fights the swaddle needs it more. I totally forgot about how shitty the first month is, too. So did my husband 🙈

Questions for those of you that have had c-sections. CS is scheduled for 9AM and they want me there at 7. They'll put the IV in, give me fluids, draw blood, etc. in the regular room then take me to the OR to start the spinal and prep me for surgery. H and I had a silly debate about when I would actually go to the OR, at 9AM or if I'll get my spinal and be prepped and be ready for surgery by 9AM? And how long does the prep part last (the part where H can't be in the room)?
They also told me that they could lower the curtain thing if I wanted to see the baby coming out. I am moderately squeamish and H was surprised that I would even consider it. But how much can you really see? You're flat on your back looking down towards your feet - I feel like I'll see the baby coming out but not like my insides cut open, right??? I think I'd want to see the baby but I also don't want to pass out...
