I got sleep last night! I don't know if it's the oatmeal/incline or the fact he got his second hep B shot yesterday, but I'll take it!

Not a great night so I dropped the big kids off for Daycare/school, made myself pancakes and took a long lap. Looking back makes me question how I returned to work with DD2...she was the worst sleeper forever....please DD3 get back on track....I think we're hitting a growth spurt

DS is 1 month old today. Time has flown! We gave him an extra 1/2 oz at his 9pm bottle last night and he gave us a 5 1/2 hr stretch of sleep last night! It was wonderful! DD went to daycare today and then I went back to sleep for 2 hours while DS slept. He has been much better about being put down to sleep today so I have been trying to do some cleaning. I'm also in the process of packing up my maternity clothes to get them out of my closet (I'm keeping a few tops that don't look like maternity). Now I just need to figure out what to do with them. I can now fit into my pre-pregnancy pants, though they're a little snug, but I plan on starting Weight Watchers next week so they should be fine by the time I go back to work at the end of the month.

cmb sleepymonkey yay for sleep! Hope it keeps up! I also took a nap after dd went to daycare this morning. We have been relactively lucky so far with dd2. She nurses a ton in the evenings but gives us 4-5hour stretches. It's so foreign to me after my crap sleeper dd1.

And sleepymonkey I also need to take down maternity clothes. I think we are done with babies, but don't know if I will be able to bear to get rid of them yet =/

cubbiebear325, we're definitely done with babies but it's still hard for me to get rid of my maternity clothes. I'm sure they'll sit in a bin in my closet until I can part with them. The same goes for DS's clothes as he outgrows them. I did not expect to struggle with my decision to get a tubal after the fact. I know it was the right decision for my family but I'm still a little sad.

sleepymonkey I'm there with you. I didn't have a tubal, but we are pretty sure we are done. With our ages, busy jobs, paying for daycare, college, weddings, etc it just makes the most sense. I disliked being pregnant so much this time, but now the thought of not being pregnant ever again makes me a little sad. I know its the right decision for us as well but I will have a hard time parting with the maternity clothes and baby clothes/items. I guess we just keep it stored until we are good with It?

sleepymonkey, cubbiebear325, I am jealous of your 5 hour stretches! We've just started getting a couple 4 hour stretches - usually one 10-2/11-3 and another daytime one, and they've been huge for sleep and productivity.

We're not planning any more children, but I'm also slow to part with maternity clothes/pregnancy stuff
I have my 6 week pp visit next week and need to figure out about birth control...I'm leaning towards an IUD but dislike hormonal BC and have heard the copper iud isn't great....blah.. DH was supposed to get a vasectomy, but can't now....booooooo

chknma, good luck choosing birth control. I would have preferred something less permanent than a tubal but I can't tolerate hormonal BC because it increases my blood pressure and I also heard some unfavorable things about the copper IUD so I wasn't comfortable with that. We used condoms for years with great success but I just didn't feel like going back to them.

oh man, I'd forgotten how little newborns sleep... this one likes to eat every 2 hours, so far we're getting maybe one 3 hr stretch per night. Though last night DS1 was up a bunch thru that. He had a fever today, hoping he bounces back and that we don't pass anything around the house...

I know a bunch of people who had good luck with it

I feel you on the newborn sleep and DS2 is so noisy that it feels like we're just taking turns being up with him from 2-5am. I hope your DS1 feels better soon!
