We swaddle and do white noise every time they're down. It doesn't always work, but not swaddling usually ends up with crappy sleep because they startle themselves. Most sleep (about 60-75%) is in the RnP, and we're planning to transition to the cribs in the next month and a half or so. I'm believing the people who've told me that bad sleep habits can't be formed quite yet but also don't want to chance it.

Stayed up to watch the Cavs and now hoping I didn't totally just F us for sleep for the night by throwing things off schedule!! Not that we have a schedule yet.
Also, sleepers with snaps are terrible at night. Why don't all mine have zippers??

I am having trouble with timing MOTN diaper changes. If I change when he first wakes up, he poops while he eats. If I wait until after, the change wakes him up and he doesn't want to go down to sleep. But the middle is an awkward time of avoiding either scenario. What do you all do?

Not sure if you're BFing, but when DS wakes up to feed, I unswaddle and start him on one side to (a) stop the wailing and (b) let him poop while eating if needed. After he has been feeding for a bit, I sneak a check in his diaper. If there's poop, I (or MH) change him after the burp break and reswaddle. If no poop, just burp, reswaddle, and offer the other side. Doing it in this order also helps to make sure he stays awake enough for a full feeding. I also find that it's easier to burp him when he's not swaddled. If you're not BFing, I'm sure a burp break and diaper check could be built into a bottle feed "halfway" through. @ginmesugar that video is cool. Dh was just saying last night he wanted to hypnotize C back to sleep.
@emmalyn we do some similar as ginmesugar bit with bottles. I usually make C take a break with about an ounce left, burp and change then. L isn't pooping during feeds yet so he gets changed at wake up to wake him up more to ensure a full feed

rosesquared we are also with cmb. We have a bunch of 0-3m and she's been in them at night since we came home then is swaddled in a halo sleep sack. So easy =)

cmb do you also swaddle in addition? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Yes, either he's in a cotton halo sleepsack swaddle or in a swaddleme + muslin blanket. We keep it at 72-74 at night, and both my kids run cold. DS1 now sleeps in a onesie underneath a pant + tshirt pajama set and has since he outgrew the sleep gowns

Omg. I was an idiot and stayed up watching tv. Then baby girl decides to not fall asleep after eating (even though she's done that after every other feed today). I'm losing my motherf!cking mind tonight. And I'm sure once she finally goes down my toddler will be up...
I need a margarita or something. Or an iv of tequila and coffee. That's safe for bfing right?
