+1 to a love/hate relationship with nursing. It's draining and annoying to be cooped up, and I feel like I'm always on edge and watching the clock for the next feeding. But, I love the snuggles and the 1 on 1 time that's only for me. +1 to mixed feelings about visitors too. The worst ones are those that just want to come over, chat, and hold DS only if he's content. I don't have time for people who will immediately hand him back if he starts to fuss a little. My 19 year old brother would basically hold him long enough to take a selfie and then hand him back. Love him dearly, but he's clearly not comfortable. My parents are always helpful, and keep him long enough for me to nap or eat or something. piratecat I'm sorry BFing is such a struggle. MH and I discussed making sure we pushed through the first 2 weeks and talking to an LC before giving up. Luckily it never came to that, but it wasn't easy. I just really didn't want to pay for formula if I could avoid it. In the end though, fed is best and happy and healthy mama = happy baby. Also, TP to your dad for the unhelpful commentary 🙄 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

We have a million errands to run today so I'm not sure what all we will get accomplished. We definitely at the very least need to go buy cat food and the store because we need coffee and bananas. I'd like to also go to Kohl's and buy buy baby to exchange some stuff but that'll mostly depend on how the kiddos are doing.

FFFC: I'm more than slightly annoyed that my sisters haven't meet G yet. They have made no effort to meet up or drive over to see him. I shouldn't be surprised though. One sister never comes over for their bday parties.

+1 on nursing being hard. This time around is a lot easier but I remember being a wreck those first few weeks with DS. It did get better for us one we got in a good groove. I think it took about a month or so for me to really enjoy it.

piratecat I 'cheat' and use a nipple shield. I used one with the girls as well. It's what got us through the really hard stages and kept us going to meet our goals. I've had no supply issues. I know shields are controversial, but anything to get baby feed. Something to consider.

FFFC: DH and I stayed up later than we should have last night watching an NCIS marathon. They were episodes we had seen before. Then I paid for it because DS was up basically every hour for various reasons. It's like he knew.

FFFC: I let DS2 fuss while I was finishing my work out. He was just fussy, not angry or needing anything.

More visitors this weekend. I'm so tired of it, although today it's my friend and her two kids that are the same age as mine so I'll give her pass lol. It's just exhausting when you're running on no sleep and your boobs are out 80% of the day. My FFFC: I hate nursing. My only motivation to keep nursing is that it's free. I hate nursing as well. I tried after my milk came in and it was just as horrible as I remembered with C. I'm pumping this time which I'm also only doing because free.

I had LCs and nurses pushing me to try without it but it works for me. They help people! And using s shield doesn't automatically create supply issues like people seem to think. I'm very pro-shield if you couldn't tell

I don't even know what a nursing shield is for. Does it help with cracked nipples?
My son's baby acne is bumming me out. He still looks super cute, but I wish it would go away!

J has an appt next week to get evaluated for tongue tie and I'm really hoping that'll make a difference.

I don't know what the affect will be if you are having low supply's already.

I had/have over active let down, and not one LC had told me about nipple shields. I don't know if I would start now since things are slowing down, but kind of irritated that it might have helped.
