gimmesugar, DS hasn't been on a nap schedule but he was pretty consistently sleeping for a few hours straight in the morning and the afternoon. Then he started becoming more aware of his surroundings and started getting more interactive this weekend and his naps have become kind of crappy. I wish I could take him for walks in the stroller, too, because I really need some exercise but it's so hot here in FL and it has been raining every f---ing day for the past few weeks. Plus poor baby has my pale skin that burns quickly so I really need to limit his outside time. I really need to find him a good sunscreen. Yeah, I noticed the increased distractibility with DS about a week ago. He used to pass out when nursing anytime and anywhere, so I could watch a show while nursing him, and then put him down for a nap....so nice. Now I have to go through a ritual of sorts for naps where I rock him for a bit, hum a lullaby, swaddle, and nurse him in our room where it's dark before putting him down with white noise. He really likes the song "Lullabye" by Billy Joel...lol. There are good mineral based sunscreens (Badger, Babyganics, Thinkbaby), but I've always read that they can't wear sunscreen until they're 6 months old. Right now, I just try to keep him covered. I always check cosmetic safety on the EWG website or app. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

lupincat J favors turning his head to the right and the osteopath said to try and get him to turn to the left as much as we can.

J had his tongue and lip tie procedure today. It was not quite as traumatic to watch as I had imagined and he settled down very quickly afterwards. Plus he got to wear the most adorable goggles. He has been very fussy since we've been home though, poor kid. And we've got a ton to get done before our long drive tomorrow and H and I are both feeling overwhelmed and stressed.

So. Much. Spit-up. The past 2 days, O has spit up so much with almost every bottle. It's rather gross. Not quite sure what's going on with him since I haven't changed his formula. I just ran to Target and bought some Dr. Brown bottles to see if they help. I have been trying to avoid bottles with a lot of pieces to wash but I am over the spit up so I'll try anything,

pinkmickey24, I'm wondering if he could have reflux, though it only started this week. He takes his bottles well but starts crying and kicking his legs after some of them. I tried one feeding this evening with the Dr. Brown bottle and he didn't spit up at all. I'm going to use them exclusively tomorrow and see if it helps.

sleepymonkey My understanding is it can appear at any point. I don't think the boys were diagnosed until the one month mark. It can also resolve itself and reappear. From my own experience the boys reflux reappeared this past fall at the age of 3. Needless to say it was a fun first trimester. I wonder if the crying and kicking could be from some tyoe of discomfort. C would scream when in his car seat. It made for unbearable car rides. What type formula do you use or do you use pumped breastmilk? We ended up switching formula and going to the sensitive version. That was the game changer for us. I hope tomorrow brings the same success as this evening. We used Dr. Brown bottles with the boys and with baby girl. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

Poor kiddo is sad and needy today. I couldn't even put him down in the RnP that he usually likes, although I was able to have him nap on his stomach while I packed. I'm not even going to bother trying to put him down in the cosleeper tonight.

Why am I wide awake, looking at my phone when I have two babies who've been asleep since 9:45?? Whyyyy? I think we've hit the 6 week fussiness/witching hour phase. Both squishy tyrants gave my husband a run for his money last night. I got home from a much-needed haircut and he looked defeated. I've been wearing one during the day, which helps when both need attention, now I need to show him how to use the k'tan to make things easier. I get to have the birth control conversation next week with my OB. I don't want oral bc, but an iud at 39 with my infertility dx seems a little silly too. Hopefully I'll have time to research other options. I loved the iud. irish14, don't beat yourself up for falling asleep. Could you set an alarm on your phone just in case? pinkmickey24, great news on the weight gain!! sleepymonkey, don't you wish they could tell us what's wrong? I hope the new bottles work for you. Good luck going back to work! gimmesugar, we had a few days of mid 90s and humidity in the last week, and I had the same plan for a morning walk. I ended up bagging it because I didn't want to have to shower. I hope you get out today. lupincat, we start PT for Lucas next week for torticollis. I think his flat spot is awful, but our ped is not concerned. We do tummy time and prop his head in the rock n play or his car seat (for walks) to try to address it. Our ped told us he's referred for helmets twice in five years, and I have a feeling we'll be number three. piratecat, I'm glad it was a quick procedure. I hope he settled a little for you.

irish14 o used to do the same thing with ds1. Ae you willing to cosleep at all? Then you wouldn't have to worry about putting her done between feedings. @pibkmickey24 yay for weight gain! sleepymonkey I feel your pain. L seems to spit up at every feeding. Sometimes it seems like it's his entire feeding. Fx the new bottles work. river I hope you got some sleep!
