What is going on this week in the lives of May 2017?
I just put the boys on the bus for their first day of the summer PreK academy. The house is so quiet I don't know what to do with myself. I am going to use this month of calm and quiet to soak up the one on one time with baby girl. I can't wait to get them off the bus this afternoon to hear all about their first day.

Not much going on here. Just trying to survive lol
Today is day 5 of the Zantac + gentlease + oatmeal combo DS2 is on. I'm supposed to call his pedi sometime in the next couple days to say if it is working or not. I think I'm going to put it off until Wednesday or Thursday to call in case it follows the normal pattern of no longer working after days 4-6.
I go back to work in 3.5 weeks, and I'm really looking forward to it. I don't know how you SAHMs do it! I'm going crazy being on leave

Back to work today. I feel like I have been gone for much longer than 8 weeks. I think it's because mentally, I was not totally here for most of 3rd trimester. Between the lack of sleep at the time and just getting ready for the baby, I had kind of checked out of work. So now I'm here and feeling like I'm not sure what I should be doing. I spent the morning going through my emails so I need to get it together and start being productive after lunch. Getting out of the house with 2 kids wasn't terrible this morning. Baby was still sleeping so I just picked him up out of his crib and put him in his car seat to leave. I'm curious to hear how it's going for my parents dealing with both kids. I'm sure they're dealing with jealously issues from DD and I don't know how they're going to handle that.

Have a great first day of work @sleepmonkey I hope the new combo helps cmbHave some great one on one time pinkmickey24, I am jealous! I have my 6 week PP check up today. I haven't weighed myself since my last appointment the day before I have birth. I am interested to see where I am at. My guess is 10 or so pounds over my prepregnancy weight.. but maybe more we shall see. My husband is on call all week so I am dreading it. When he is on call I asm pretty much on my own for 7 days :/ On the upside my granite counter tops are getting installed on Wed in our new house, so excited to see how it looks! GL this week sleepymonkey! I go back 3 weeks from today. I'm not as ready to go back this time as I was with dd1. I think bc dd2 is such a good baby! Though days I have both girls I'm ready! The 3yo is the struggle! I just met one of my HS bff' s at a park in my hometown. She s leaving to go back to PA tonight and I don't get to see her much =/. Now meeting my other hs bff for lunch. Our second babes are 2.5 weeks apart so it's fun!

cubbiebear325, it was exactly the same for me. I was ready to go back when I had DD but not so much this time. I would have liked a few more weeks. But DD was a terrible napper, didn't like to be put down, and had really long witching hours everyday whereas DS is a much more relaxed baby and sleeps well most days. But throw the 3 1/2 yo into the mix on the days she didn't have daycare and I was ready to run away screaming at times.

pinkmickey24 Hope the boys have a great first day! cmb Poor thing! I hope the new combo helps! sleepymonkey The return to work is so tough. On the one hand, it's nice feeling like an adult again, but it's tough being away...plus all the catch up. Ugh. I don't go back until September, but I put on my OOO message that I would automatically archive any emails received earlier than one week prior to my return. DNW to read 1,000 emails. sagen GL being on your own! Yay for the counter tops! Last week was rough. DS is going through a short nap phase. Right now I'm lucky if I get 45+ minutes. On the bright side, he's starting to give us longer stretches at night (close to 4 hours). DH stayed home with me on Thursday last week after a particularly rough couple of days/nights. I was able to get a glorious 3 hour nap. DS is also sometimes able to self soothe back to sleep during naps...not always, though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

cmb I hope the new combo works and defies the normal trend of not working after day 4 or so. sleepymonkey I hope your first day and week back to work goes smoothly. sagen I hope your appointment goes well. I have my 6 week appointment on Wednesday. I too am curious to see my weight once I step on the scale. cubbiebear325 I'm glad DD2 hasn't projectile vomitted since Thursday. Maybe what y our mom did the trick. @gimmiesugar Yay, for longer stretches of sleep! Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

In addition to being my first day back at work, it's also my first day of my diet. I'm trying to do lower carb, higher protein to try to curb my sugar and starch addiction and then I plan on switching to Weight Watchers. I had success with it 5 years ago and while I don't love the new program, I need to do something. I'm a few pounds less than I was when I got pregnant but I'm wearing a size larger in pants, which bugs me. I really need to lose all this weight I gained since having DD 3 1/2 years ago, especially since I am done having kids. I have no excuse anymore. But dinners are so hard for me because I don't get home until 6 and we're hoping to settle DS in to a 7-7:30 bedtime. Then DD starts her bedtime routine at 7:30 but doesn't go to sleep until 8:30-8:45. So we pretty much have an hour to cook, eat and spend some quality time with the kids. Healthy meals are hard to do quickly.

sleepymonkey I hope you had a good first day back to work! As far the diet goes, I think the best way to eat healthier is to meal plan and prep as much as possible. I know with me if I don't have a plan when I come home, I want quick and easy stuff, which usually isn't healthy. @pibkmickey24 I hope the boys had a good first day at preschool . gimmesugar the boys were doing 45 min naps the week and half. It was torture. They finally switched on Friday and we get good naps from them. What a difference it makes. AFM I took the boys to DHs work this afternoon. It was my first time leaving the house alone with them. It was pretty successful although a lot of work.

This was before L's physical therapy appointment this morning. They didn't settle well after their 4 am feed so I might have pieced together 45 minutes of sleep between then and 7 am. My husband was dx'ed with strep this weekend and I got a text earlier from someone we were around this weekend (but thankfully had no direct contact with them) telling me she was dx'ed with shingles today. Ped reassured me that it's unlikely that they'll catch anything. They've been a little off all day - I think they're going through a growth spurt. If I'm following Wonder Weeks, they're in sync with their DOB, which makes sense with their big heads. 😬

Thanks, ladies. He's been fighting bottles again today but also super tired so we'll see what happens tomorrow.. river my H also got diagnosed with strep over the weekend. Luckily, he only shares drinks and food with the toddler and not the baby.

cmb, I hope you can find a solution to his reflux soon. Poor baby. My first day back at work went well. Apparently DS did not sleep much at my parents' house since they only had the crib and he does not like to nap in a crib. This is also the first time he has been away from me for more than an hour or 2 so he wasn't completely comfortable. He got really fussy by the afternoon but he was happy when I went to pick hm up. He was so smiley and was cooing at me so I know he was happy mommy was there. I'm going to bring his RNP to my parents' house tomorrow in the hopes that he'll sleep in that.
