I am in the damn ER again. It is so busy. Stop taking your kid to the ER for strep throat. That is what the nurse said was pretty common tonight. We have a room and hope we can get discharged soon. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk :-( fx you get to go home soon. I'm supposed to be sleeping but insomnia and now I'm hungry. Wtf. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

We got home at 3 and older kid woke me up at 9. He has to go in for every fever to get checked out for a blood bacterial infection (could lead to sepsis) and get iv antibiotics. It should take an hour to do everything (though ER always takes two hours plus), but last night it was so damn busy that they had to clean a room for us (housekeeping kept getting paged and they swapped beds instead of cleaning it), deal with all the other kids and coordinate with the hem-onc doctor. The nurses were nice and it wasn't there fault. It pissed me off that there were so many people there for non emergency issues. Urgent cares were still open. If one kid had strep last week, go get a throat swab at any damn place. If I had an option not to be there, I would not be there. He has a pet scan this Friday and then they will decide if it is working well enough to continue. Based on an ultrasound in the ER this week which showed more swelling in organs and the fact he still has the fevers, I think they are going to say it is resistant to the standard chemo and we have to go stronger.

I'm glad your home but sorry that you had to deal with an overtaxed ER at all. Sending all the good thoughts for good results at PET scan Sent from my SM-G920T using Tapatalk

Sorry you were back in the ER a. Sending positive thoughts your way! beefinch, my friend who is due 10 days after me, paid for the harmony test so she already knows she's having a girl. She's telling me to hurry up for my ultrasound so we can go shopping, haha. annperkins, I/we are also eating out way too much. I figure we might as well get it over with before we have a kid though, right?

So- I ended up getting sick yesterday. I can't hold anything down and I had a fever last night. I think I slept close to 20 hours yesterday. So far today I've held down a piece of toast, a little egg and some water. I think I'm going to go to urgent care when H gets out of the shower so he can keep an eye on DD2. I'm so dehydrated, nauseous, my head is pounding and I want to sleep forever.

Thanks! IV and Zofran definitely helped. My white blood count is really high, so they are running more tests and putting me on antibiotics. Follow up with my OB this week.
