Apparently there is a tropical storm that is going to hit us today. It's coming from the west coast of FL and I'm on the east coast but we're still going to get a bunch of rain. Someone send me a boat!

Everyone appears to be healthy thank goodness. Today is supposed to be gorgeous, so we were surprising the boys with their favorite thing, trains. We are going to the railroad and riding the train.

Is anyone else's baby chewing on their hands a lot? Owen has taken to putting almost his whole fist in his mouth and chewing. He also grabs his burp cloth or bib and chews on that. I'm wondering if it can be the start of teething already. I know DD started teething at 4 months (didn't cut a tooth until almost 7 months) but she was more a drooly mess that biting. I broke out the Sophie yesterday and he seemed to like it.

I think it's more just that he's found his hands and is exploring with them.

DD3 is also chewing and more drooly...I also think it's more about finding hands...she's also finding her feet a little bit too....
I keep reminding he big kids that they can't give her anything small since they like to lay their toys near her...I should have clarified about sharp/pointy objects because DD2 gave her little sis a fork the other day 😳

I just got done at the dermatologist. They removed 2 spots and one of them was from the middle of my forehead. I have a big bandage covering it now and it looks awesome. I'm just going to hide in my cubicle for the rest of the day. Also the numbing stuff is wearing off so the spots sting, on top of the 5 other spots that she froze that are also stinging. Oh the joys of being fair-skinned and not a fan of sunscreen when I was younger.

sleepymonkey lupincat DS is doing the same thing, including trying to put his fist in his mouth and being extra drooly. Around 2 months is when their saliva glands really start working, and after Leap 2, they've discovered their hands and that they can control them. This continues during Leap 3, and I've noticed that DS is already "blowing (spit) bubbles" with his mouth, which the app specifically mentions for Leap 3. Definitely keeping a bib or burp cloth handy at all times! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So I think DS has a cold 😢 He woke up on Saturday morning extra stuffy, and he would cough more frequently because of the drainage. He was running a low grade fever (around 99) this morning according to our temporal thermometer. I talked to the pediatrician's office today just to find out what they want me to look for in case they want to see him. They didn't really give me any new info, but it's good to know we're already doing everything we can. Hopefully I'm not jinxing it, but surprisingly, he's still pretty happy all things considered.

DD has been gnawing on her hands since birth so I'm guessing she was doing it in the womb too.
I can't believe August is tomorrow! A cold front is coming tomorrow dropping temps to the low 90's/high 80's so I'm super excited. I think I'll take the kids to the park or the splash pad.

FWIW, my 2.5 year old started at around the same age with "chewing" and drooling but didn't get a tooth until he was past the 13 month mark.

We've all been or are sick. We're miserable. It was DS2's first day at daycare today, too. Luckily, he's over the cold and DS1 is on the downslope. DH and I are the ones suffering now 👎🏻
Being back to work with 2 kids makes it much harder to check in all the time..

cmb, when O wants his hand, nothing else will suffice except for maybe someone else's fingers. I am not looking forward to the drooling that I know is coming. DD had to wear a bib every waking moment for months because of the drool.
