lastkiss I didn't want to bump last week's Randoms thread, but FWIW, any "new" sleep after 5PM for DS is bedtime for us. He can have a nap end after 5, though. I can't remember how it started, but back in June, we just began kicking off our bedtime routine anytime between 5:45 and 6:15 depending on how DS was doing and how he napped during the day. I can't even imagine trying to coordinate two bedtimes with twins 😳I don't necessarily subscribe to everything Elizabeth Pantley of the No Cry Sleep Solution says, but her book for newborns states that the first segment of "night" happens anytime after 5 or 6PM when baby is showing clear signs of being tired. We had a great trip, but I came home only to be mad at myself. We bought the boys new engineer hats and somewhere we lost one. I think in the midst of grabbing everything I may have dropped it. I emailed the railroad in hopes that someone found it and turned it in. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

Dd2 is also gnawing on her hands a lot and super droopy recently. Used to just chew hands when hungry, but this has changed. I remember dd1 doing the same around this age. She didn't start getting teeth until 9m. cmb wow late teether! Dd1 was a slow teether and they came in in the weirdest order as well. Interested to see how it goes with dd2. It was first day of daycare for dd2 today as well. I was emotional this weekend but fine this morning. Getting all of out of the door in the morning is crazy hectic though! Hope your ds2 had a good first day

Feels like another Monday. We were gone all weekend so I had to grocery shop last night. The kids scheduled are off so they were little terrors at bedtime and again in the morning. DD2 woke up crying overnight and was inconsolable...might have been a night terror......
DH had too much fun over the weekend so he went to bed at 9 and kept asking me if I was coming up....sorry I was intermittently nursing, packing lunches, washing bottles/pump parts and getting ready for morning....
I'm a grumpy mom today...thankfully I'm wearing black because I'm trying out my reusable breast pads and one shifted so I leaked onto my shirt
Blah....more coffee please

cubbiebear325, I figure the bandaid on my forehead for a few days is much better than the potentially cancerous (and ugly) bump there! I have already had 2 precancerous lesions removed from my face and neck so I'm trying to be better about staying on top of things.

Today has not been my most stellar parenting. I cannot get DS2 to nap for more than 20-25 minutes today and poor DS1 has been stuck watching TV for the most part. I hate doing that because he's speech delayed but I guess it's just about survival these days.

lupincat it's definitely about survival. Is everyone alive and fed? Then you're good. Dd1 has watched a lot of tv since dd2 has been born and has fruit snacks for breakfast, etc since I didn't feel like fighting a strong willed 3 year old over it. It is what it is....keep your chin up mama

lupincat, DD watches a lot more TV since DS was born, especially on days when I'm home alone with both of them. DD is a very active kid and likes to be outside playing; she's not much into playing in the house. But it is way too hot for DS to be outside for more than a few minutes so I have to find things that will appease DD inside. That usually means movies or my ipad. We're all just trying to survive.

@ginmesugar I tried that with Connor last night. He was up within an hour. Also, the EASY schedule seems to indicate a cat nap in the evenings.
I'm honestly struggling big time with the boys lately. Their naps have gone to crap and I cannot get on a schedule or routine at all. To top it off, my mom is my go to for help bit whenever she comes over she just wants to take over and send me for a nap like a child. She can't seem to understand I just need a second set of hands not a break.
We've hired a nanny who hopefully can start soon but I'm not ready to go back to work until Sept. I'm not sure how she'll feel about hanging out with me for a month.

I'm not sure how she'll feel about hanging out with me for a month. Ugh! So sorry! Hopefully the nap issue is just a phase. DS does that to me too sometimes, and it's so frustrating. Are they going through a leap or growth spurt or something? We try to do EASY as well, but I have to be kind of flexible with it if he takes short naps, so sometimes he nurses right before a nap. He also takes a catnap if his last nap ends before 4PM so that he's not melting down. I can't recall if you BF or bottle feed. I noticed that DS was ready for his first long stretch of sleep when he would feed for, like, 30+ minutes and get ridiculously limp/sleepy when I put him up on my shoulder to burp him. I really like this sleep site: www.preciouslittlesleep.comI even bought her book because she has a lot of good info, but mainly because she's funny and sometimes I needed a hahahasobsob over sleep issues. Is anyone else's baby chewing on their hands a lot? Owen has taken to putting almost his whole fist in his mouth and chewing. He also grabs his burp cloth or bib and chews on that. I'm wondering if it can be the start of teething already. I know DD started teething at 4 months (didn't cut a tooth until almost 7 months) but she was more a drooly mess that biting. I broke out the Sophie yesterday and he seemed to like it. Yes! They've discovered them and will sometimes push the bottles out in favor of their hands. Maybe I'll try a teething toy tomorrow.
