Hi everyone! What's happening with those babies and big kids?
Question - what's your favorite quick dinner?

I have less than a month of leave left, and it's going by so quickly! I can't believe it's mid-August already.
A PT update - Lucas is doing really well. He sits up on his elbows and has good range of motion. His flat spot is improving, too. It's hard to have two to compare. Violet is not as strong and I suspect we may start PT for her soon - our therapist is going to do a quick, unofficial eval on her tomorrow. I'm waiting for them to roll over and am embarrassed to admit I'm "practicing" with them.
We had a great weekend, taking them to a rooftop bar in Philly that has family Sundays. They were so pleasant and happy to take in all of the sights and sounds.
The multiples board inspired my question, as we were discussing pesto. It tastes like summer to me, our basil plant is huge, so I think we're having that for dinner tonight. I can even prep it in advance!

The kids are all doing great. We're inching our way towards the school year. DD1 will be in 1st and DD2 will go to preschool 2 days a week....they're both excited. DD3 is to chatty these days and loves "talking" to her big sisters!
This is my 4th week back to work....I always have trouble adjusting to being away from the kids....we had such a great beginning to summer and now I feel like Im rushing through everything and not getting to enjoy the day to day. Ideally I would work PT, still carry our benefits and break even on daycare costs...but I'm so limited on job options because DH is self employed and my job is pretty flexible...it doesn't help that I don't want to do this type of work anymore...uhh...being a grownup isn't fun sometimes!

Today we went and did our grocery pick up. I ordered everything yesterday online, so all we had to do is run to Wal-Mart and Sam's Club to pick it up. I spent so much, but there has been no real shopping in a while. Pretty much since baby girl was born. It's hard to shop when it's primarily just me, the boys, and baby. Plus, I bought most of their snacks for their lunch in bulk. Now I need to tackle the kitchen to make room for everything.
I have two weeks left before the school year begins for me. I know I have been blessed to have 14 weeks with baby girl before I return, but I'm not ready to give up my time with her. This return to work is also increasing my anxiety.

river experience has taught me that kids will roll when they are ready. My perfectionist toddler didn't even attempt to roll until closer to 5 months, but once he did, it was non-stop. They'll roll when they are ready

I've been avoiding convos with my brother for this reason. They'll do it when they want and there's no point in rushing them FWIW neither of mine are rolling front to back yet and except for last Thurs neither are doing back to front either. Silly Connor hasn't even attempted to get on his side his his shenanigans on Thurs. I guess he just wanted out of the swaddle

I go back on monday too. Gonna WFH for the first day bc holy emails, going to take me all day, then I can be around if our nanny has any questions.
I've been sick w a stomach bug since Wednesday. It's been a real drag, and I'm worried about my supply with the dehydration and little eating. Finally starting to feel better so I hope this doesn't tank things right when I have to go back to work and start pumping :/. Aaargh.

Today has been a day of ups and downs. The kiddos went to daycare, so that I could work in my classroom. My first time leaving baby girl with someone other than DH. I found out who the boys will have as their PreK teacher and learned they were separated. That's okay with me. It will be good for them. All of this left me wanting to pick up the phone and call my dad. There is so much I want to tell him.

I think we're finally getting into a good routine with me back to work. DH is doing much better with DS at home now that he's got down a routine. He's going to come have lunch with me on Friday... it'll be the first time he takes DS out of the house alone.
We decided that we really want to build a house. We found the builder and floor plan we like...we just have to talk to a lender and see if our realtor can negotiate any upgrades in the price for us! It's exciting and stressful at the same time lol

txcatlady I'm glad DH is getting into a good routine! MH will be taking over in a couple of weeks (temporarily until DC starts), and I keep trying to tell him that he needs to attempt to put DS down for a couple of naps so that he gets used to it...and so that DS doesn't think that only Mommy puts him to sleep. Good luck on the house! I hope I'm almost over this cold. I think it's the same one DS had a couple weeks ago....not sure why I just now caught it. Congestion certainly makes you realize that you don't fully appreciate being able to breathe normally lol.
