J doesn't start daycare until next week so H has been watching him, usually bringing him to work in the morning then going home in the afternoon. He has a meeting he couldn't get out of tomorrow morning so I'm bringing him to work instead and I'm a little anxious about how he'll do, especially since my boss has a client coming in for a meeting. I'll probably bring his bouncy seat but will most likely end up wearing him, which I think will be the safest way to keep him from getting fussy. My office manager is really excited to babysit but I feel a little weird about it, because I don't want my boss to think that I'm taking her away from her work (even though I know that she doesn't have enough work to keep her busy all day). Anyway, we'll see how it works out!

The boys had their 4 month appts yesterday. They survived their needles and Logan handled them much better than last time. Both were just sleepy. Logan is now 11lbs 13 oz (birth weight 4lbs 5oz) and 24 inches (18 at birth). Connor is 13lbs 3oz (6lbs at birth) and 24.75 inches (20.5 at birth). Logan's closing the gap between them but he still seems so much lighter. Did you give them anything beforehand? Mine handled their shots well last time, but since we're having some rough days, I don't know if it will go as well this time. Nope. Just took a wait and see approach.

DS2 has his 4m check up tomorrow. Here's hoping he doesn't catch what DS1 has and ends up sick.. he's really digging purée pouches, though! He'd just rather not have cereal 🤷🏼♀️

How is it possible that 4 month appointments?!?
Thanks ladies for the support and encouragement with the return to work. I'm still trying to get the timing down in the morning and I have to have it figured out soon. The boys start PreK next Thursday and will miss the bus if we don't get the timing down. Baby girl keeps throwing me a curve ball with waking up with me instead of sleeping in.
My plan is to start making the bottles in the evening befire I go to bed. After tomorrow I will have a pump to leave at work, so I will always have a washed set of parts ready to go the night before. Right now I pump in the morning then wash my pump parts, and then pack my pump. Any other suggestions? The boys are when they got to daycare. She only did that yesterday.

+1 to not believing we have 4 month appointments! Ours is next week. I tried calling to change the time because the first nap of the day is going to be tricky, but they didn't have anything. I'll probably call again next week in case there are cancellations. Otherwise, we'll make it work.
Tomorrow my mom and I are going to the daycare so that I can ask the questions that I didn't have when we toured back in March. Thursday night my boss is having dinner at our house while he's in town so that he can catch me up on everything that's been going on since I've been out.

piratecat I just happened to be reading this article yesterday: Babies at Work: It's Weird that it's Weird. I thought it was pretty interesting, the author was initially skeptical about having infants in the office but has found it has worked out for them. It seems to depend a lot on how your office is set up though, maybe not so good in open work spaces. Anyways, good luck today!

I was looking through old pics and have ones of DD2 crawling in her Xmas pjs...her birthday is one week before DD3's so I'm guessing we'll have a crawler this holiday season...how? Why? TIME SLOW DOWN!

I was looking at pictures from the first few weeks last night, getting all emotional. It blows my mind how tiny Lucas was, and now he's a strong, chubby baby.

dmorgendorfer that is very interesting. I do hope that more companies would accommodate working parents in one way or another. I do work in an open office - but there are only a few of us and we are spread apart in a large open space and the two partners have offices at the other end from my space - but I am lucky that my bosses have been really understanding and accommodating. We are also lucky that my husband owns his business and so he's been able to bring J to his office and he can come and go as needed. J did well today. He fussed a bit when we first got here but he was tired and fell asleep in a few minutes in the Ergo and slept until I woke him up to feed him and then my husband then came and got him after his meeting. And he gave lots of smiles during the few minutes he was awake!

piratecat Glad J did so well! Baby smiles are the best! When I was a baby, my mom's company had a private daycare in the building, which was good because she could just run downstairs if needed. I wish more companies would do that. The daycare visit with my mom went well. My mom liked the facility and the caregivers, and DS did well. I just wore him in the Tula. They'll do paced bottle feeding as long as I give them instructions for it and will help him fall asleep with rocking and stuff if needed. He doesn't need that at home, but with the change of scenery, he might need some extra help initially. cmb: I asked about the swing and state regulations (Texas) won't allow them to let a baby sleep in a swing. They have to go into the crib. We might still use the swing at home if needed, but I'll keep working on weaning him. He's currently falling asleep on the lowest speed setting, so that's good. I also have to get started weaning him from the swaddle since he can only wear a sleep sack at DC. I *think* I'll get the Love to Dream 50/50 and do one arm at a time in the sack and then unzip one arm at a time.

Crap. He has either ringworm or a tick bite.

It's in his groin area, in a leg fold. Could we really have missed a tick bite though? That seems unlikely but I would feel so awful if we did. Ugh.

piratecat Where would he have gotten that? It seems so random! Ugh...I'm always paranoid that things are happening in DS's folds because it's so hard to get in there sometimes.
