Ahh I can't believe it's September. It's going to be a short but busy week!
Kiddo has his first cold. Poor kid is all stuffed up and has the cutest and saddest little coughs. And he starts daycare tomorrow. I need to get all his stuff ready for daycare tonight.
I had a review at work this morning and got a raise. I've reduced my hours since returning to work, which reduces my salary by quite a bit so the raise was definitely much needed.

piratecat congrats on the raise! Hope your kiddo gets better quickly. I think DS might be teething. Poor boy is chewing on his fingers nonstop! I got out the teethers we have and he seemed to like them but he doesn't hold them well yet. Since it's September... has anyone decided what their baby is going to be for Halloween yet? Top contender here is garden gnome but not sure yet

Congrats on the raise, @pireatecat! Hope he feels better soon! txcatlady, I'm trying to figure out something cute for the twins... I'm not the slightest bit crafty, so we'll likely have to buy something.

We all have head colds or maybe just allergies. I hope naptime is a success today. I would love to be my run in before it gets too hot.

@txcatoady I think J might be teething, too. He's always chewing on his hands and sucking in his bottom lip. He is starting to get better at grabbing and putting his teething toys in his mouth. I'm not really into Halloween but I guess that's gotta change now that we have a kid? But what kind of social events do 5-month-olds even go to dressed up for Halloween?

Congrats piratecat! Hope LO feels better soon I think allergies are starting here too lildiamondeyesHopefully the twice worn ladybug costume will be in the next bin of clothes....otherwise I look for something that will easily slip over a carrier in addition to be worn my baby for trick or treating with the big kids Today was the first day of school....I can't believe I have a first grader 😠DD3 also had her 4 M visit...Doing great overall Provider not worried but she's in the 94% height and 29% for weight...DH's sis and mom are both tall and thin but my other girls were usually more even in the h/w 95/95 and 70/75ish

Re Halloween. DH wants DS2 to be a hotdog. I'm thinking baby giraffe. DS1 will be a minion this year

Poor kid is sick and miserable and fussy and I had to run home for a bit just so my husband can shower before attempting to go into work for a meeting he couldn't get out of. I'm not sure how that'll go but I don't envy him right now...

piratecat Sick babies are so sad! I had to clean so much snot out of DS's nose when he had a cold. Basically every diaper change he got saline and snot sucking. We also ran the shower during his bath to make the room really steamy and used a cold mist humidifier at night. DS is chewing on his hands a lot too, but I'm not convinced that he's teething because he doesn't act like he's in pain. I think he's just obsessed with his hands after discovering them. He likes to chew/suck on his right index finger...so cute. The in-laws gifted us with a Buzz Lightyear onesie with a matching hat from the Disney store, so Halloween is taken care of!

Our daycare does a parade which was the only place DD1 wore her costume her first halloween. I think I put her in it while we were handing out candy, but the kids who were trick or treating really didn't care that I was holding a baby dressed like a pumpkin - they just wanted the candy. I took a whole bunch of pictures though which are still some of my favorites.

dmorgendorfer we don't get any trick or treaters at our house, boo. But yea I imagine babies are dressed up mostly for photo ops. Daycare parade sounds so cute though!

+1 to daycare parading them around in costumes. I took James out just for the candy the past two years. Little stinker wouldn't wear his abdominal snowbaby hat last year 😒

Does anyone else's babe HATE the Nose Frida? L doesn't mind, but V acts like I'm sucking her brain out or something...
We started sleep training yesterday - transition to crib and Ferber. Last night wasn't great, but mostly because I stayed up staring at the monitor. So far, so good tonight.
