I'll be calling the daycare director today... A went 5 hours again between bottles because "he was tired and he fights when he's tired.." IF YOU FED HIM LIKE WE SAY, HE WOULD SLEEP LONGER THAN 20 MINUTES AND NOT BE TIRED ALL DAY

The toddler room is also indirectly encouraging bad behavior and I'm fed up- J has been running away from diaper changes because he thinks it's funny. He gets away with it at daycare. He does not get away with this at home. They go "we won't chase him... we move on and come back. YOU'RE THE REASON HE THINKS HE CAN GET AWAY WITH IT. STOP

I would be furious about the feedings cmb. Hope the director takes your concerns seriously and helps remedy the situation

cmb That's awful. I have a meeting with our director on Monday, though things have gotten better. I think what really helped was printing out a sign with DS's name on it with our top 3 instructions in bullet points. -Wake times between naps and what he needs -Paced feeding (I tried and tried to remind them about this because it's important for BF babies, but they just wouldn't do it), including how frequent feedings should be -Limiting time in holding devices like sit-up chairs and giving him plenty of floor/tummy time for exercise instead That way, there are zero excuses. It's taped up on a cabinet in the kitchenette area so even their occasional helpers that come in throughout the day can see it. I mean, you would think that the problem with waiting 5 hours to feed would be obvious to them, but putting stuff in writing only strengthens your case.

Update: I had a 25 minute phone call with the director this morning. We'll see how next week goes...
She's going to talk to the infant teachers to make sure they understand that when we say he didn't eat, we mean he didn't eat and needs a bottle around 9am. She's also going to talk to the toddler room about not letting DS1 get away with that crap. We get it to stop on the weekends, but then he gets away with it there, and it starts all over

Also, being petty last night, on J's "behavior" report, they butchered our last name... we've been there for two years. Our last name is stylized like a common Irish last name... they left off the first two letters, so I crossed out the name they wrote and put the correct 😂🤦🏼♀️

J started sucking his thumb. It's adorable but H and my sister were both thumb suckers that took a lot of effort to get them to stop so H is quite worried. So cute though and so helpful for self-soothing...

DS2 rolled from back to belly today for the first time! He was so thrilled with himself, but then got all embarrassed when DH and I cheered. I got a photo of his smile when he realized what he did
PDQ (photo in spoiler) *poof*

So cute though and so helpful for self-soothing... We swap the fingers for the pacifier anytime we catch it... our doctor said to not worry about it, but at 28 years, I STILL bite my finger nails

cmb what a cutie! We offer a pacifier but he doesn't always take it. I didn't know that nail biting and thumb sucking were related. H bit his nails for a long time but broke the habit a few years ago.

So cute cmbMy little guy is a thumb sucker. If you try to give him a binki he gags like he is going to throw up :/ from what I read the vast majority grow out out it on their own, and teeth wise you only have to worry after 4. I mean if I could swap out for a binki that's a good idea, but he ain't having it.. I am not too worried though.

cmb that's sucks. I hope your talk with the director fixed problems. Do you think it will? Did you come up with an action plan? It's sounds like the workers are overwhelmed or under trained. So proud and cute piratecat G sucks his fingers. It's adorable!

So proud and cute piratecat G sucks his fingers. It's adorable! We'll see. She's going to keep an eye on things to make sure we see an improvement. I don't think the infant teachers like having kids that don't fit the mold, so to speak, but neither of mine did/do. I know they've both been in that room for at least 5 years now. They were flabbergasted when I made sure they knew his bottles were to be offered directly from the fridge- they were so confused that they weren't to be warmed at all The toddler teachers aren't my favorite, but he'll move up again in January when he turns 3 so as long as it doesn't get worse, I'll deal. I adore the teachers in the next room, and they're great with DS1.
