Oh no! That's so sad. All you can do is be there like everyone else said. My mom passed away a month before my wedding - and it was difficult - really really difficult. I can't imagine a week. My tips would be: (a) The day of the wedding - really focus on the wedding and not the passing. I had a hard time with the "I'm sorry to hear about your mom" sort of thing - it made me cry every time. (b) Make sure the photographer is aware of the situation and doesn't do something stupid like ask where the Mother of the Bride is (c) Make sure the dj is clued in (d) If they are doing the Mother / Son dance - make sure someone is close by the Bride - it was the hardest part of the wedding for me. This is all such good advice. My FIL passed away 10 months before our wedding. I seriously can't imagine what it would've been like if it had only been a week. I'm sorry about your friend's loss birdsofafeather . Those are all great tips. Thank you! I will be applying all of them. You sound like a good person to bounce this off of so here it goes. The funeral is Friday @ 2 and is about 2.5 hours away. I have had to take 2 days off next week for the weeding which is also 2 hours away and had to take a couple days for the bach party last month out of town. I feel terrible but I don't think I can swing taking Friday off this week to make the service and since it is right in the middle of the day and so far I would have to... I am torn and do not have the courage to tell her I can't make the service. What is the best way to say this?

So my toddler fell down about half a flight of stairs tonight to our basement. She's okay except her eye hit the banister that holds the hand rail. She will for sure have a black eye now. This is our first major fall/black eye event. Basically breaking my heart. And now I don't think I'll ever let her do stairs solo again. Oh yikes! poor kido. I am glad that she walked away with just a black eye. stairs scare the sh*t out of me this C... Hope your heart heals soon, there will be many more bumps along the way I am sure!

E also took a good fall down stairs last night. She was helping me water the flowers on our front porch, took a side step and her foot went off the step. She lost her balance, fell onto the stone step, then off the edge onto the pavers walkway. So much screaming. Besides a scrapped elbow she was fine though. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk Thank goodness she's okay!! I just want to bubble wrap these kiddos.

birdsofafeather @peggels thank you both. She's for sure her normal self as of last night and this morning. Which is such a relief. I'm happy to see her sassy self. On a completely different topic. My poop this week...everyday, its like my entire colon empties. The biggest poops. I'm not complaining, as last pregnancy I was so constipated. But this is so weird and relieving. I don't even think I'm eating enough to warrant this. 🙈

I need to find a foyer rug today. My heart is saying runner style. I love rug shopping. Solids, or patterns? Fringe or no?

I need to find a foyer rug today. My heart is saying runner style. I love rug shopping. Solids, or patterns? Fringe or no? Pattered, obvs. No fringe, it needs to be sturdier due to heavy traffic. I'm planning on painting the area a greyish-tealish-blue as soon as I can convince someone to do the stairwell for me. My door is bright red inside and out. I'm leaning toward a dark red Persian style. We'll see what I can find.

Sorry theiowagirl, I forgot to acknowledge your incident! There were so many. I'm glad your daughter is fine today I just realized that since I live in a rancher that only has two stairs at the front door and three at the back, my kid will suck at stairs, LOL. It'll have to practice at Grandma's I guess.

theiowagirl Kids are so resilient, thank goodness! DS2 is my accident prone, though DS3 is trying to be too big and ends up landing on his head or back more than I'm comfortable with. In fact, DS2's first ER trip showed up in my OTD in FB. Sliced the bottom of his big toe off stepping on broken glass we didn't know was even there. a Hoping everything clears up. ERs are no fun.

Having one of those blah days. The Roku isn't working and neither is the DVD player, so hopefully I can get a shower in without spectators OR anyone getting hurt. Everything is a dang race for a trophy with these kids, thanks Mickey & the Roadster Racers.

I bought one from Target, but I don't think it's the right proportions for the space. And I'm not totally in love with the pattern. I plan on returning it tomorrow and trying either Home Goods or another more specialized store.

Had my 16 week appointment today! Found baby right away (in the exact spot I thought s/he has been chilling) and heart rate of 137 I found out my doctor is switching to a different office that is way too far from my house so I switched to another doctor in the practice. The one I switched to is the one who cleared me to leave the hospital after DS was born AND was on call for 2 of my 3 stays in the hospital for PTL/renal colic. He's not bad to look at either!
