9:14 am. 7lb 2oz. 19 inches. Everything went very well and she's doing so great 💕
Registered at 6:45am and got to my room shortly after. Hooked up to monitors and got checked. The anesthesia team for my spinal came in to chat and then the lead guy wanted to play with his new gadgets and did an ultrasound on my back to determine the spinal placement. He had some students with him.
Walked to OR at 8:45 and was ready to begin at 9:05. I was a bit nervous but overall knew I was in good hands. The spinal was great... just the usual pinch/burn with the initial shots and some pressure. No big deal. I was impressed with how fast it kicks in. She arrived at 9:14am and was able to do some skin-to-skin once she was cleaned up.
Amazingly as she laid on my chest she wiggled her way over to my boob and began nursing pretty much on her own!! I got to hold her as they wheeled me back to my room and she nursed on the other boob for a bit.
We are now in my official room (expected to stay til Friday PM or Saturday AM) and she's been sleeping since she came back from the nursery from her assessment.
So far so good! They'll let me eat at dinner time so in the meantime I've just been inhaling apple juice lol.
Pain seems fine but I can feel it beginning to creep in. The spinal has mostly worn off but I wouldn't trust myself to stand quite yet. They gave me a bit extra because they were concerned that I might have more complicated scar tissue because of my first section. Turns out it wasn't too bad.
All in all it has been a positive experience!!
