sagen Good luck today! DD has been in Merlin's Magic Sleep Suit for almost a month. Yesterday I sent the 50/50 in with her for them to use at daycare and she rolled herself over in it so they took the arms off and she didn't nap much. Today I sent the Magic Sleep Suit in with her so hopefully she naps a little better. It's annoying for DH to have to take the sleep suit back and forth but I really don't want to spend $40 to buy another when realistically she'll grow out of it in about a month. Does your daughter like to suck on her hands or have them near her face? I bought a Merlin Sleep Suit a long time ago, but I'm afraid to try it because DS likes to have his hand near his face. See pic (PDQ) 😊 *poof*

piratecat I was freaking out about the swaddle for the last month, but I think DS was showing signs of being done with it. He was fighting it more and breaking out of it more easily, which is no small feat with the Miracle Blanket. I'm sure J will be able to transition when he's ready. Sorry, I can't recall he exact issue...doesn't he sleep best when he's held and doesn't like to sleep flat?

gimmesugar he's a squirmer especially on a flat surface and has a hard time settling down if he's not swaddled (sometimes even while swaddled). I have the Merlin suit too that I haven't tried with him but he also likes his hands in his face... hmm.

piratecat Ah yeah, DS would squirm a lot too, especially for naps. It's like he needed to get some energy out before finally settling down. When he was really little, he had to have his arms swaddled down with very little wiggle room because if he could move even just a little, he would keep fighting the swaddle and wouldn't go to sleep. That's when I got the MB. Now that he kind of knows what his hands are, he can have them near his face...he just gets distracted sometimes and plays with his pacifier 🙄

gimmesugar she can get her hands to her face with the sleep suit on. It seems like it helps to muffle their movements so they don't startle or jerk themselves awake but she still has a pretty good range of motion, more than I expected in it. She can't roll over in it though and hearing that she did roll over in the 50/50 makes me glad we're using it because I don't think I'm ready for her to start sleeping on her face.

Guys I'm so not ready to give up swaddling. I don't think J would sleep at all. Thankfully he hasn't shown any signs of rolling over but I'm dreading the day. At least I won't have to worry about the 4 month sleep regression since we haven't gotten nowhere to regress from. 🙄 I'm still swaddling. I really think the rolls he did was a fluke. He squirms enough to be able to break them out if he needs to. Daycare doesn't swaddle, but he needs it so much a night. Now, he only wakes for food or his pacifier which is fine by me. DS1 was the exact same way

cmb J can nap without being swaddled in the swing or RnP but definitely not laying flat on his back. He apparently napped for 2 hours in daycare, which never happens at home. 🙄

Do your babies wear anything under the Merlin? I'm worried it might still be too warm for it but maybe not? I'm in the Northeast so it's cooler than most places.

piratecat I was just putting her in a onesie when it was warmer but we're getting some cooler nights here now (NJ) so I've been putting her in it in a sleeper. With just a single layer she doesn't get too hot.

He did great on the plane!! Now I am just quietly playing on my phone while he sleeps, down side of a hotel room. He wear a halo sleep sack that you can swaddle. I put his hand kind of up by his face, and he usually breaks out, but goes to sleep well in it. The 50/50 One looks cool!!

Man the twins were in sync last night with their wake ups and there were way to many. 😥 I'm exhausted and have a headache.

sorry lastkiss, I can't imagine dealing with two babies waking up overnight. I forgot to send J's magic sleepsuit into daycare with her today and she only napped for an hour and twenty minutes collectively all day. Going to be going home to one cranky baby.

lildiamondeyes J does that when she's on her activity mat, and she gets so pissed. She can't roll in the Merlin's Sleepsuit so she doesn't do it overnight or I'm certain she'd be doing it then too. Weren't you worried about him not rolling last week? Be careful what you wish for! She was hoarse from crying so much yesterday . We're getting a second sleepsuit to keep at daycare so that doesn't happen again - luckily I was able to find one in the local mom swap group on FB.

No rolls yet over here, but we stppped swaddling several weeks ago bc she was just breaking out. Plus I had to put her down totally asleep or she'd fight it and get kissed. Now she loves sleeping on her side if she's in the crib and we're just going with it
