piratecat, my section was scheduled for 7:30 and the first one out came at 7:53. My husband was alone for a brief time, we were shocked how fast it was. Congratulations, angryowl and irish14! lupincat, we swaddle and V tries to get her arms out almost every night. We now get her sleepy, re-swaddle, and give her the rest of the bottle before putting her down again. It goes against all of the sleep training advice, but we all need as much sleep as we can get. Both twins definitely cluster fed over the last few weeks. I hope tonight is better for you.

Congrats angryowl and irish14! lupincat I'm pumping (no supplements anymore) but both boys definitely cluster feed. Fx you guys have a better night. piratecat I think the prep in the OR for me lasted 20 min tops. I never made it to my scheduled csection but I would assume 9am is when they would start prep for you in the OR. Like that is when the room will be available for you. As far as the curtain goes, with my first they had the curtain low enough that DH could see over it during the entire procedure. He was happy that this time around he couldn't see over the curtain. I wasn't able to see anything either time and would assume the curtain would have to be basically non existent for you to see anything.

cmb Yes, we swaddle but I can't tell yet if he likes it or not. Seems to be hit or miss. Thanks for all the words of advice ladies! I honestly forget how the first few nights were with DS1 so I feel like I'm starting from scratch. I appreciate everyone's advice and anecdotes Not sure if you've tried different types of swaddles, but DD seems to like the muslin blanket or the swaddle the hospital gave us and doesn't do as well with the SwaddleMe things that DD1 preferred.

lastkiss that's what I told my H, that anything that happens in the OR would start at 9. He also thought the prep would take a lot longer. river that is really fast! And I'm glad to hear that H doesn't have to be out of the room for too long.

Man my parenting is officially at an all time low. I think we've watched Moana and Sing all day for the last 2 days.

piratecat, my RCS was supposed to be at 9:30 and that is when they would have walked me to the OR. H and I walked together, then they left him in the room outside the OR for him to get ready while I got prepped. I think my prep was 10-15 minutes tops and that was including them having to give me something extra when my BP dropped and I almost passed out. H then came in and they started a few minutes later. I'm not squeamish but I opted for the sheet to remain all the way up because I did not want to risk any chance of seeing my insides. H said it was a bit disturbing when he saw all the blood pouring out of me after O came out and he went over to be with him. Glad I did not see that.

Went to the doc and everything is ok with my incision. She said the glue probably came off the one side a little too early so that is why it is more irritated. I now have a steri-strip on the spot that started opening and was told to put gauze against my incision to keep anything from rubbing against it. Apparently, a lot of women have more irritation from subsequent c-sections and also it takes a little longer for the wound to heal with the glue (I had staples with my first). They like using the glue because of less scarring but I already have a scar and it's not like anyone other than H and my ob see it anyway so I would prefer staples any day.

sleepymonkey that is pretty much what I thought would happen with the timeline. H has had a much more complicated surgery so I think his idea of how it'll go is a bit skewed. I definitely do not want to see my insides and don't want to pass out before the baby comes, and don't want to see blood pouring out. But I don't know I'm still surprisingly on the fence about it. I'm glad that you were able to get the incision looked at and I hope that you can keep it from getting worse and it'll start healing soon. I believe I'm getting stitches...

piratecat they did a lot of the prep work in the recovery room but my spinal was in the OR. Dh was pacing pretty hard outside the OR, so they let him into the OR a little sooner than normal. Surgery was scheduled at 10, G arrived 10:56, but my Dr did a lot of clean up work from my other 2 CS.
