Add me to the "how are we at 4months already??" Camp. DS will be 4months on Tuesday and his appt is next Friday.
DS has been sleeping terribly at night this week. I can't decide if he's in leap 4 early or sleep regression. Either way I hope it doesn't last too long.
DH had a dentist appointment today so I got off work early to watch DS! It's nice having a little afternoon play time and snuggles

piratecat Where would he have gotten that? It seems so random! Ugh...I'm always paranoid that things are happening in DS's folds because it's so hard to get in there sometimes. Well, apparently my husband has it. And they take baths together so. We've also been hiking with him a bunch recently so a tick bite is also not out of the question. Ugh, either way I feel awful about it. What kind of parents let their 3-month-old get ringworm or Lyme disease??

piratecat this is probably not the first time you've heard me say this and it definitely won't be the last, but this shit happens. Shit happens, literally. Spend a few minutes to "what kind of parents let X, Y, Z happen?" and then remind yourself that you are great parents and kids get sick and infections All. The. Time. This brought to you by the mother who gave her toddler pink eye despite constant hand washing and doing all I could

piratecat Don't blame yourself! Eventually he'll be running around outside and will get into all kinds of stuff! Bugs suck. Btw, totally adorable that they take baths together. When DS had a cold, H held him in a steamy shower after he was done showering and it was the sweetest thing ever.

cmb gimmesugar thanks guys. I know that there'll be a ton more illnesses, infections, accidents to come. And ticks are pretty much unavoidable around these parts. Ugh, but he's so little. gimmesugar father-son bath time is really sweet. And I'll have to remember the steamy shower trick for colds!

Took J to the doctor and she does think it is ringworm and not Lyme, which is a relief. She didn't think that daycare should have an issue with it and said it's really not much different than a yeast infection. He weighed in at 13 lbs. 5 oz. and he was an absolute doll, cooing and smiling at the doctor.

We would just have to make sure it's covered well, so a bandaid on it under pants or sleeves (depending on where it is). Obviously, you'll need to check your center. Ours allows some leeway with sickness and such that is more lenient than I've seen other states allow

cmb it is under his diaper so it is covered but also an area they would come in contact with regularly while changing diapers. It wasn't listed under illnesses that would require him to be kept home in the handbook but I do plan on telling them so that they can be more vigilant about washing their hands so they don't spread it to other kids.

piratecat I thought you said it was in the diaper region- our daycare requires they wear gloves when changing diapers so they should already have pretty diligent measures on that.

Yea, I'm not sure if they wear gloves or not but I figured they would at least wash hands anyway, and I would hope that they are diligent about it.

I think DS has eczema on his head and has been SO itchy at night... I've been trying coconut oil to keep it moisturized but it's hit or miss on working. We have a pedi appt next week, so hoping we don't have to take him in sooner to get it checked out. Going to switch bath soap to an oatmeal wash and see if that helps tonight. Poor kid got my sensitive and eczema prone skin...

Sorry for all the sick babies. I'm hoping for a healthy winter. We kicked off last Sept with HFM and it went down hill from there. So far so good.
