angryowl we are doing pretty good! Having a baby is a lot of work, it turns out, and I feel like I'm barely keeping my head above water. I'm back at work and it's a bit overwhelming to juggle but I think I'm starting to get the hang of it slowly. So exciting that you're buying a house! It's too bad that you'll miss fall!

piratecat +1000000 on feeling like I barely am above water. There were moments in the first couple of weeks where H and I worried we'd made a big mistake. With the jaundice and the screaming and the everything. I hope work goes well!

angryowl the first few (4, 5, 6... oh I don't know) weeks were pretty rough for me and there was a lot of crying (from me mostly, J was/is a pretty easy going baby). Breastfeeding was so much harder than I had expected and I was worried I might be dealing with PPD (because you always hear it's normal for "baby blues" to last 2 weeks and mine were going way beyond that) but it did get better, mostly coinciding with making progress with breastfeeding. I remember crying to my husband after the first week how much I miss sleeping and cuddling with the cats, because they were mostly staying clear of the baby, and J would only sleep laying on top of me. I was so so sad and convinced that I will never be able to cuddle with them again. They did come back around to sleep with us on the bed and I do get to cuddle with them occasionally, so things are definitely looking up.

I just ordered C and L costumes. They're going to be a panda and a leopard. X decided he wants to be a monkey and Dh and I are going to be zoo keepers.
C is in full blown sleep regression. So tired. So over 11pm bedtimes only to get up again at 2. Ugh

piratecat, I'm glad it's getting better! I ended up going on Zoloft because my PPA was getting bad. It's been a game changer.

I worry about how much my baby is in the van!! For example today, luckily my husband took my daughter to school but usually I do. Then I put him in the van to drop my sons off at elementary, then off to pre k, then home. He gets a nap then I have to wake him up because pre-k here is annoying short (2.5 hours, but commuting cuts into that) , then drive back. Just put him down for another nap, and will have to wake him up at 230 to get my daughter from middle school. I have to pick up my sons at 530 after Lego League (they stay after school and do it there). Normally it is 330 when school gets out. I feel like he spends too much time in the van, I feel guilty but, oh well.
I need to start looking at cute costumes, Halloween is so fun!

Today was the first day of PreK for the boys. They got on the bus, but not off. However, they were on there and were dropped off after missing their stop.
Second week back to work has been rough. I'm hoping next week is better and that the universe throws me a bone because this week is too much.

I'm on a boy/girl twin resale board and got adorable costumes for only $20 total! It's unoriginal, but they're going as Luke and Leia. If only I'd had them on May 4th instead of May 5th, my nerdy dreams would have come true.

lildiamondeyes - I see nothing wrong with that!! Hopefully our kids won't end up like my friend's daughter who wants nothing to do with SW, despite his best efforts.

DH has "orientation" for J today since she is starting at daycare next week. We were hoping we'd be able to do it yesterday, I stayed home so I'd be able to go but it didn't work out schedule-wise so he's going solo today (well he'll have both kids with him). I'm disappointed I wont be there, not because we need the orientation, E's been in that daycare for almost 2.5 years, but I feel like I'm always the mom that isn't there for any of the daycare stuff (like the halloween parade, or the holiday lunch, mothers day breakfast). Daycare is on site at H's work campus and I commute into the city so he does pick up/drop off and its hard for me to get there when they do things during the day.
