notagoddess - Huge {{hugs}} Going back to work is really hard. I cried and I've done it before! All I can say is evaluate how you feel about it after you've been back for a little while. This is my third week back and it's much easier now than it was week 1 and week 2. But if you feel you need to make a change, like going to PT or WFH some days, is that an option?

Thanks for the reassurance that it does get easier. My plan is to reevaluate after I'm back for a while. I can't WFH but I'm going to be asking about part-time work, I just don't know the best time to have the conversation, but I'm thinking after I've been back for a little bit. I'm pretty sure my boss would say no if I asked now. |

I'm pretty sure my boss would say no if I asked now. Give it some time before you decide. I say that because when I went back after I had J, I did a modified PT schedule for the first year. I worked in the office M-W-F and I "worked" from home T-Th. It was nearly impossible to get any work done at home because a) J never napped, b) I missed a lot of in-person conversations in the office, and c) I hated working with J nearby - I felt like I was ignoring her.
Believe me, that time home with her was great. But in the end, it was better for me to be at the office full-time, and J excelled at DC.
FWIW I'm surprised you can't WFH. I just assumed that's, like, a universal thing now. Because internet. LOL

pivot, I've forgotten my computer more days than I care to admit. Babybrain is real. IUD went in this morning. Not fun but not terrible. Just crampy now. B was so congested last night so he was up every hour. It was worse than when he was a newborn. Yeesh! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

We had a fun weekend but I swear DH has a way of making everything so much harder than it needs to be. How is it that when I go out with both kids I'm able to do more and faster than when he's with us?
DD is so exhausting sometimes. There are days I feel all I do all day is tell her to stop whining and stop doing whatever. Then I feel like a shit mom.
LO has been napping for three hours, bless his little soul.

musicallyinclined - I did and I almost mentioned it here. I'm still on TCF for another board and kind of hate going to four places to keep up with all my people. Not that I'm saying we should move for me, but...  J/K!

I don't mind going back as long as it's not going away. From what I read on here, it seems like this place wasn't meant to be permanent? Lots of hugs notagoddess DD1 was happy as a clam at daycare. DD2 is such a needy baby, it is so much harder this time! |
