cmb , no way to fix it? There's always a way, they just don't want to! I hate all the bills rolling in after having a baby. Just when you think you have paid everything, another one arrives. With DD, I received one bill 13 months after she was born. That one was quite the surprise. And you have to really keep track of everything because hospitals try to screw you (or maybe it's just mine.) I'm curious how the hospital is going to issue my refund. I paid for part of my bill on my FSA and part on my CC. The CC is now paid off and I really don't want to now have a credit on that card. I would prefer if they could just refund it all to my FSA and then I can use that for the other bills I'm getting and/or new glasses and some dental work I have been putting off. The insurance said I could appeal, but that it wouldn't work since it was a pre-approval issue. Bullshit, if you ask me. Once I get a bill from natera, I'll call them. From what I can read, they'll lower to whatever the self pay rate it. I hope that's the case... the self pay is <$400 whereas they charged the insurance company $8k! No way can I afford that.

cmb When I look on my app, it still reflects the individual numbers. DS was added to H's plan, so shouldn't his charges go towards that deductible? I'm still on a plan by myself. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Baby girl gained 6 ounces in a week. She is now 7 pounds 9 ounces. We go back next week for another weight check and hopefully she will be back art birth weight of 7 pounds 11 ounces or past.

piratecat, that sucks. I have heard that deductibles and premiums are going to go up a lot in the next year so it sounds like you're getting the hit early. I am not looking forward to when our re-enrollment comes out at the end of the year. I'm used to high deductibles but I don't understand why we don't all re-enroll in January to match the deductible timeline. Switching to different companies mid-year means I have to meet two high deductibles in a year for any coverage, which just won't happen.

piratecat, you have to meet 2 deductibles in a year? That is not cool! My company's health insurance used to run July-June and our deductible ran on the same timeframe. Last year they decided to switch us to Jan-Dec so when open enrollment started, we only enrolled for July-Dec to bridge the time until we could get on the new schedule. They cut the deductible in half for the July-Dec time period so at least there was that but it still sucked come 6 months later when the deductible started all over again.

I've been dealing with bills for the kids. I have my new insurance card, the company assures me that they've been added, and my online profile shows a family plan with them as dependents. But they don't show up on ped's billing office software that links to insurance. I have over $1000 in bills that they keep telling me they can't re-submit because they haven't been added yet. We tried a three way call last week and this thread is reminding me to call again. I haven't even received the EOB for their birth yet...

I'm over medical bills and we have pretty good insurance....It doesn't help that DH needed emergent surgery in December right before the new year and DD2 will likely need surgery For her tonsils next spring when everything resets again...too bad we couldn't have squeezed it all in one benefit period! Oh well...it could be much worse!

G's two month appt was today. He weighs 13lb 4oz! Hell of a growth spurt he had. Now if he can't sleep longer than 4 hours that would be great. Early FFFC: we've been dtd since way before PP appt that was last week.

sleepymonkey I was told all deductibles follow the calendar year but maybe that is not the case? Our enrollment is in September but our deductible goes from Jan to Jan - the deductible amount rolls over as long as we stay with Aetna but not if we switch companies. And then we still have to meet the full deductible amount with the new company before the end of the year. At least that is how it was explained to me but I think I need to double check because that would be pretty outrageous to have to meet the $6500 deductible in 4 months.

Hoping for some better sleep since he gained so much.we do have to work on tummy time more though...his neck isn't as strong as they'd like to see.

txcatlady when I mentioned tummy time being a hatred thing, the pedi said that they want it done only so baby doesn't get a flat head. It's weird how all pedis have different opinions on it

txcatlady, DS is also now 24" and we just moved to 6m pj's because he suddenly outgrew all of his 3m. I had to order a few pairs since we only had 2 pairs because I was expecting to get at least a few more weeks out of the 3m. The pedi also told us to work on tummy time because DS is getting a bit of a flat head. Unfortunately, O just seems to want to lick the blanket when we put him on his tummy. And he gets upset when we try to move his head to the side so he's not face down in the blanket.
