We bought two Tortles - recommended by our PT - for the flat heads they already have. They're tolerating tummy time more and more, and I feel like the baby wearing we've been doing will help too. Lucas, who was 5 lbs at birth while Violet was 6 lbs 5 oz, is now 4 oz heavier! He's 9 lbs 14, she was 9 10. They got shots today but have taken it well.

cmb at our 2 week appt the pedi wanted us to do tummy time to prevent flat head but now she's focused on his neck strength. Meh we'll keep working on it and see how it goes. sleepymonkey I had to buy more 6 month pjs too! He outgrew the 3 month ones way faster than I thought he would! i guess I should buy some 9 month pjs soon to keep on hand..... at this rate he'll need then in a couple of weeks!

We're getting a mamaroo today to keep in our bedroom. B is so fussy between 4 and 6am and the only thing that keeps him happy and asleep is being held or in the swing. And I feel funny leaving him in the swing in the living room while I shower and H is asleep (which is probably a little much lol). H suggested just moving the swing back and forth from the living room to the bedroom but it's so big and I don't want to deal with that. I hope he likes the mamaroo as much as the swing because I like the way they look better.

tortor4, I wouldn't like him being in the swing in the living room either, unless I had a monitor out there. And moving it back and forth is a big no if it's like ours. That thing is so bulky and awkward to move a few feet, let alone to another room! Good luck with the Mamaroo. I saw one on clearance at Target a few weeks back (I think it was an open box return) and I contemplated getting it because I hate the big swing in the family room. But O is our last kid and he is fine with the swing so I restrained myself.

tortor4 We have a Mamaroo that we borrowed from a friend. DS likes to watch the mobile, but he doesn't really sleep in it. I put him in there when I need to go to the bathroom, get a snack, etc. However, for nap sleeping, we did get the Graco Dreamglider and we LOVE it. The footprint is smaller than other swings we looked at, and he can sleep almost completely flat. The price point is the same or cheaper than the Mamaroo depending on where you buy. m.buybuybaby.com/m/product/graco-reg-dreamglider-trade-gliding-seat-sleeper-in-sutton-trade/1043816262txcatlady Sorry the pedi wasn't happy with his neck strength. DS isn't thrilled doing TT for more than 3-5 minutes at a time, but baby wearing, supported sitting on my lap or tummy, and other things like that help with his neck strength. Our 2 month appointment went well today. DS is 11.5 lbs and 23 inches, so the pedi was happy with his growth. The vaccines were heartbreaking. H cried more than I did because he had to be the one to hold his arms down. He was NOT prepared for the major crying...DS never cries like that at home. I just tried to distract myself with the growth and development info pack so that I wouldn't see his face. Fortunately, DS passed out immediately in the car on the way home. gimmesugar, I really think the vaccines are tougher on the parents than the babies. They seem to get over it pretty quickly while we keep picturing their pained faces and sad cries. I wasn't able to go to DS's 2 month appt so I missed the vaccinations but H said DD was absolutely hysterical once DS got his shots. She was so upset that it hurt him. He was over it long before she was!

I just had lunch with my parents and the kiddos. DS slept the entire time so he didn't even know I was there. My parents told me that they are in the process of booking a family cruise for their 50th anniversary next July. I am so excited and it's a year away! We had one booked this past April but had to cancel because I got pregnant. I'm not the biggest fan of cruises just because I have been known to get sick (I have the worst motion sickness) but I'm just excited because DD will have so much fun! My parents are planning on pay for both my family and my brother's family but I want to talk to my brother and see if he would agree to us paying for ourselves and then splitting the cost of my parents' room. It's their 50th and they have done so much for us - it's the least we can do!

sleepymonkey Aw! Poor DD! Yeah, it's kind of funny because H was pep-talking me in the exam room...saying that DS won't even remember it, so I was really surprised that he was so emotional about it. At home, he's practically impervious to DS's normal/fussy cries. I think he just felt really bad for holding him down...like he was the one doing it to him even though he knew it was the right thing to do. H was in the military during his first marriage, so he never experienced this with his daughter. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

gimmesugar I think the restraining them is the worst part of the whole thing too. So I ended up with mastitis this week. Ouch. Got diagnosed and prescribed antibiotics last night after two days of fever and aches. I just hope they work quickly and I can get this lump to go away. I think the antibiotics are making the boys more fussy then usual, so tonight's witching hour will sure be fun

lastkiss Ugh! I hope the antibiotics clear it up quickly! Make sure you're getting good probiotics too to help "offset" the antibiotics killing off the good bacteria. Maybe that will help your boys too ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

FFFC: I let DS2 nap in the swing in the living room while I shower. We've also let him sleep in it while we slept without a monitor. We're in a one floor apartment though

lastkiss, I hope it clears up quickly and the boys give you a break this evening. Small vent, sort of cross posted from my multiples board. My ILs like to do pop in visits - they'll call when they're a few minutes away. One time I had my BFF visiting from DC (I'm near Philly, and she had to take a train and Uber to get to me) and another time was after a rough cluster feed night when we had just got them to sleep. My husband, despite me telling him prior to their birth that pop in visits were a non-negotiable, asked "what do you want me to do, say no?" Yes. Exactly. They need to learn that you cannot pop in on NB twins, or any NB. It complicates matters that they want to hold a happy baby and complain about family members. His mom mentioned visiting "one day this week" so I'm training both of them. I made him call her earlier this week to commit to a day, and she said she'd be in touch later in the week. After not hearing from her, I made him call her again to nail down a time. She committed to arriving between a two hour window. I can live with that... Baby steps. It during prime witching hours, so it should be interesting.

I'm all about self-care, whether showers or naps. Our stupid monitor broke, so we were been without one for the last two days. The replacement is set up now, thankfully.

I have showered with DS in the swing but I won't sleep with us in the bedroom and him in the swing in the family room without a monitor. We sleep with a fan for white noise and I worry that we wouldn't hear him if something was wrong. His bedroom is right across from ours and we still use a monitor but I have anxiety issues so it's really for my peace of mind.
