lastkissWe've dealt with milk/soy intolerances with all of our girls and there are others here dealing with the same thing Sooooo many foods have dairy it can be really frustrating, especially if you try to eat somewhere other then home! Hang in there...it really gets a lot easier Hope the boys have you a good night sleep ;-)

chknma since you've dealt with this before, do you mind if I ask you a question about dairy/soy intolerance? We switched B from BM to soy formula two or three weeks ago and saw a drastic change. Seriously he was a different baby. Today is the third day he's been extremely fussy again. Now it could be because I missed an entire day of his Zantac for his reflux the day before the fussiness started, but I'm really hoping it's not that he has a soy sensitivity too. Do you think he'd be fine for a couple weeks then back to fussy because of soy? cmb you might have some insight on this too. To be fair, I definitely think I have a hard time differentiating normal fussy from not normal fussy just because of all the shit he's gone through. But this is like...pained screaming and getting super stiff and I just really feel like it's nit normal fussy.

There were like 2 options for dairy free Connor ended sleeping from 11 to 8 so that's a win in my books for the first night without a swaddle.

Hmmm...I would think (but am surely not an expert!) that three weeks of soy formula would have been an issue earlier it there was a soy intolerance....mostly I've heard that baby has improvement with dairy free but still fussy and then cutting soy made more difference..plus it can take weeks for dairy to leave the system completely our bigger issue has been blood in stool. I cut dairy and DD2 had improvements but was still having bloody stool then cut soy and had no blood Maybe it's missing the Zantac or other baby fussiness issues...growth spurt/leap!?!?

cmb Did you use the zipadee zip with DS1? I'm curious about it because daycare doesn't swaddle, but they'll let them use a sleep sack. So, I need to get DS weaned off the swaddle (at least for naps) in the next month. No, I did not. We swaddled until 7/8 months but DH was stayed home. DS1 never really tried to break out of the swaddle, and he didn't roll until closer to 5 months We send the sleep sack swaddles to daycare, but they won't swaddle him in a swing so they're kinda forcing DS2 to break it for naps since he will only nap in a swing. How did the zipadee zip go? Some reviews on Amazon indicated that some fabric around the zipper can bunch up on baby's face, so I'm curious if that happened with yours.

chknma thanks! That was pretty much my thought as well. I've just been second guessing myself so much more this time around for some reason.

We're using it underneath a swaddle for warmth right now. He could still whack himself in the face :/

Remind me of his age in weeks? (I'm lazy and mobile..) We never had blood in the stool with A. He was screaming in pain, refusing food, and wheezy. I didn't put the wheezing together until it stopped with the formula change. We completely skipped going to soy formula, and went to hypoallergenic because in 50/60% of cases, it's both. Zantac is a H2 inhibitor so it's effects aren't instantaneous but neither is the withdrawal.. so while it may be a factor, I don't think that's the full cause of it

We've had something work for up to 2 weeks before it got worse again Thank you so much. I think I may give it a couple days and if he doesn't seem happier I'm going to try the dairy and soy free formula. Did your pedi test for the intolerances? This is why I'm annoyed mine didn't. I just want to give him exactly what he needs.

I have the Merlin Magic Sleep Suit, but I'm worried it will be too hot...which is why I figured the zipadee zip could be a good alternative.

I took the boys to the county fair today. Tgey had fun and want to go back tomorrow.
I've reliazed that I have two weeks before I have to go back to work. I am ready for the consistency of routine, but I'm not ready to give up my time with baby girl or the boys.
I feel like I'm reliving the borrows of this past fall when the boys start showing signs of reflux again, so they are back on Nexium. The boys had reflux as infants, but avoided medicine because switching formula seemed to do the trick. However, we learned this past fall that even though they outgrow it it can develop once again. Apparently my boys feel like they must do everything together because they're twins.
