cmb Awesome! I must say I'm always perplexed by how you get them on your back when by yourself. I'm not the most coordinated person, and this parenting task leaves me scratching my head.

Lots and lots of practice. The first few times I did it, I laid him on the bed in the carrier then laid on him (barely touching him) to put the carrier on. I then tightened once he was up. As I got more comfortable with how he was supposed to be, I would do it standing but with him over the bed. I eventually just learned how to do it on my own

cmb...awesome! Tula in the wild! I love back carry when older. How are you liking your ftg? Love mine and just bought a standard on super sale from a local boutique. We have a roller here. K rolled from belly to back today after being so close all week. She's 12w on Monday and now I really need to swaddle transition bc she can roll back to side as well

cubbiebear325 *butting in* We're loving our Tula FTG. We used it at the resort this week because DS would get sick of the stroller. He wanted to be upright to see everything. Out of curiosity, how do you plan on transitioning from the swaddle?

gimmesugar not sure yet, as we didn't have to do this with dd1. I will probably just swaddle with one arm out for a while (probably 5-7 days) and then both out then remove it all together. Also, dd2 is in leap 3 definitely. I want my good sleeper back!

@cubbiebear, it's nice and useful, but I prefer the standard or toddler for comfort. He's still on the smallest setting of the FTG though. We have both a FTG (mine) and ergo adapt (DH's)

gimmesugar with DS1, we moved to one arm out for the longest time then both. We're going to end up doing the same with DS2 because going straight to the zipadee failed drastically. I will say using that under a swaddle has made a big difference because he can't get his arm free now 😂

I've considered letting one arm out with a sleep sack (or maybe a zippy) over the swaddle, then both arms, etc.... it would take a lot of strength for DS to break out of the MB (much less roll over in it). It's described as the "Sloth Approach" in this post I found on Pinterest: www.mightymoms.club/stop-swaddling/
