I am so sad that DS1 hates the pouches. They seem so convenient and easy. He doesn't even like yogurt in a tube. He has to be able to use a spoon or fork. How dignified ;-)

We made our own baby food and then froze it in ice cube trays. Once the cubes were frozen, I stored them in plastic bags in the freezer. It was so convenient! Plus, I could mix flavors as J got older (ex: one cube of butternut squash with a cube of apples). The great thing is our babies should start eating as fall produce is coming in to season, so it'll be cheap to make your own squash, root veggie, and tree fruit purees. IMO baby food makers are a huge waste of money. Use your blender or food processer. But I also have no room for extra appliances so there's that. Dumb question: how did you thaw it and warm it?

My 3yo still eats fruit and veggie pouches, and it is a major source of veggies for him. I give zero cares. +1 Good to know I have more time

Pouches freak me out. Too many viral pictures on FB of worms and things in them. I've never bought one nor do I intend to start.

DD gets the pouches too. I just push some of the puree out before giving it too her to make sure I don't see any mold. So far so good.

Anytime I see something about mold or whatever I assume it's an operator error on the part of the parents.

I use the ones that are store bought. I prefer the clear pouch ones; but I've probably bought every brand at one time or another.

I had to Google what pouches were. Isn't it just puréed baby food in a different container?

I also like to throw them in the diaper bag for spoon feeding at a restaurant, etc. You can buy pouches in the applesauce aisle at the grocery too -- that's where I buy pouches for DS, unless he needs prunes.
