With DS I got a ton of baby food and snacks at Big Lots. Name brand stuff like Happy Baby, Plum Organics, Beech Nut, and Gerber. Everything from jars to pouches to puffs. Much cheaper than the grocery!

Aldis has really cheap veggie and fruit pouches. DS loves them.

The Squeasy Gear Snacker is my favorite pouch. Easy for the kids to open and shut and I found it the easiest to wash. They are a little pricier than other brands but in a way not because I sold the 8 regular pouches I had, to end up with 4 Squeasy's since I don't procrastinate on washing them and can put them in the dishwasher.

This thread has me excited to watch another baby try foods for the first time again. DS1 would try pretty much anything and his reactions were hilarious.

I'm planning on making my own pouches. BRU has a washable thing that lets you create the pouches and you can buy clear bags for it. It's not super pricey so that's the current plan.

I had to Google what pouches were. Isn't it just puréed baby food in a different container? ::feeling massively underprepared as a FTM:: Yes. They're SUPER convenient. I have a few stashed in my diaper bag at all times. I can toss one to my DD and she can open it by herself. (It also keeps her quiet for 5 minutes in a pinch lol.) I prefer the ones with the clear packaging too. Happy baby has a good variety.  |
